Jason, I totally agree with you. Reasons such as “because the earth is a certain distance away from the sun, etc.” are not really proof of a god or of intention. If you were to walk outside at precisely the moment an airplane fell out of the sky, and you just happened to be caught under it, that would not be intention.

I’ve found it does no good to argue with someone determined not to believe.
Romans 1:19-21 “Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Jason, you’re missing the point. If there were concrete evidence of God’s existence, then everyone would believe in Him. That alone would do away with the Christian faith. God exists everywhere, including outside the physical realm. As a result, proof of Him will never be found in a universe bound by science. Science can’t explain Him. He is so far beyond science. It’s just up to you to open your heart and let Him in. He’s knocking.

I find this to be a good argument, but do not find it to be a good logical reason to believe in God. I only find it to be another act of someone who believes in God to comfort and reassure themselves in what they believe, as do most weak minded people that feel they must cling to there religious faith like some little kid clinging to his/her blanky to feel safe. No one knows, at least I should say, no one ALIVE knows what happens when we die, where we go, if we go. No one can prove that God exist. No one can prove that God told man to write the bible. It has been prove that man DID write the bible, but there is no proof that it was “God’s Will”. No one knows who or what created the universe and all of it’s inhabitants. Many people have many different theories, but no one…NO ONE, has hard cold proof. So, I’m still looking for someone to give me a good logical reason to believe in God.

I don’t think that believing in something intangible is a sign of weakness, but an inherent strength.

It leads back to the quote, “We fear that which we do not understand.”

Some people fear faith, and others choose to embrace it.

I believe based simply on the fact that he came to me at a very bad time in my life, I was near death and didn’t care. He gave me a second chance.
